the trip to arion farm park

In term 3 all 3 of the year 4 classes went to Arion farm park together. We had to be at school early before 8:30 so that we wouldn't miss the bus.  After Miss B was finished marking the roll we lined up outside in 2 straight lines. We walked into the hall foyer while we waited for the buses to come. There are about 90 year 4 students all together. There are so many of us that 2 buses had to come to take us to Arion farm park.  Finally the bus arrived. All of the year 4's were loaded on with some parents and at least 1 teacher on each bus. We could sit next to anyone on the bus. I sat next to Liam on the way there and back. Once we were  seated on the bus we started the journey to the farm park.

After the bus driver had parked next to the other bus we got out. We all sat down in a big group. Suzie and the farm park helpers came over and told us about the farm park. Suzie is the manager of the farm. Once we had been told all of the information we needed to know one of the teachers read out everyones names so that we knew which parents group we were in. Suzie and the Arion Farmpark helpers walked around with us. there was at least 1 Arion Farm helper walked with 1 of the groups.

I was in Teri's Dad's group with Teri, Devo and Liam.

Gymnastics

Room 8,12 and 13 got split up into 2 groups. The 2 groups are for on Fridays and one group goes to the hall to do gymnastics with Mrs Baker and Miss Mackenzie. The other group goes to room 8 for ball skills and reflection with Miss B. In gymnastics we learnt different rolls, positions and a few tips. The tips were to keep your toes pointed when your doing a position. There are two types of pikes. You can do it sitting on you bottom or standing up. Sitting down is a lot easier than standing up. when your doing the sitting pike position you need to keep your toes pointed. Mackenzie was a helper. Mackenzie  is a helper because she does gymnastics. She shows us how to do the positions.

The Difficult Challenge

On Tuesday room 8, 12 and 13 split up into the groups that we were in for the chickens and we were split up into groups of 5.When we were put into the groups of 5 we all had to work together to make a tool. We had to try to make the magnet attract to the safety pin to pull off the piece of paper which Miss B made it into a piece of fruit.Nobody actually managed to get the fruit. My group made a very strange tool. The things we had to make the tool out of were Popsicle sticks,Bluetac, Sellotape , a 2 metre piece of string , straws , newspaper and a magnet. We all had to work together as a team to make the tool.It took awhile to design our tool.

Feeding the chooks

Every three weeks four room 8 students go out in the morning to feed the  chickens. We only have four chickens. In terms 1 and 2 it was only two people that went to feed the chickens. we get to choose who we want to feed the chickens with. Hannah chose me to feed the chickens with her. But now we have more chickens. We couldn't keep all of the new chickens because some of them were males. So now we only have four chickens left. Mr Rush and Mr Mcaven found two chickens wondering around in the school grounds so they put them into the chicken coop. Mr Mcaven and Mr rush are still trying to find the owners of the chickens. Miss B decided to have four people go out to feed the chickens because it was taking us too long when there was only two of us out there. I am in a group with Teri, Devon, Liam and of course there is Me. I think that it is  a lot easier having the four of us out there and it is a lot faster.

Kelly sports

Kelly Sports

During term two room eight has had three awesome weeks of Kelly sports.

I had an awesome time I thought that it was really fun.My favourite game was the tag game with the bean bags. We learnt all sorts of  games. We played catching games with tennis balls and bean bags. I think it is easier catching a tennis ball instead of  a bean bag because it is round and also because it is a good shape to catch when you cup your hands.

My Self Portrait

My self portrait

For Art last term we focused on drawing self portraits. I am very proud of my self portrait because it is the best drawing of a person I've ever done but my next step is to learn how to draw a nose properly.I love drawing. Drawing is one of my hobbies. I really enjoy art. I really enjoy art because it is fun. I think Miss B is a really good drawer. I like my self portrait because I did different things on the background.  I really like the colours I chose because there are four different colours and the colours are red, orange, purple and pink. I like the way that I swapped the way that the colours were.
